Restaurant Wart Hünenberg

Andrin Schweizer and his team redesigned the traditional Wart restaurant in the canton of Zug before handing it over to a new tenant. The historical, well-preserved façade painting served as a central impulse: the interior designers used its color scheme and characteristic clouding as inspiration for the design of the fitted carpet, which forms the basis for the room concept.

The elaborately designed wall and ceiling paneling from the historic interior was retained. They also served as a template for new furniture elements. The new bench, for example, is complemented by a lightweight room divider made of colored glass balls - handmade by a Bohemian glass-blowing workshop. The color nuances of the façade also served as a model for this.

New furniture, lighting and decorative elements gave the new dining room a harmonious appearance. With a great deal of sensitivity for the historic building and a clear eye for modern accents, a design was created that relates history and yet has a timeless effect.
