Hotel The Yarn Horgen

The interior design of the hotel, located near Zurich and built in the 1960s, needed an update: more than ten years had passed since the last complete renovation. The aim was to create a high-quality and timeless environment for business guests, seminar groups and individual travelers alike. Andrin Schweizer and his team were inspired not only by the era in which the hotel was built, but above all by being on the water at that time. Accordingly, oak wood plays an important role, along with shades of blue, gray and white. The furnishings and furniture in the 81 rooms, lobby and restaurant are also inspired by the shipping theme. Among other things, the interior designers created individual carpets: the motif of fish schools ties in with the central theme of the hotel design. The compact floor plans of the rooms were left untouched, and the designers ensured that the rooms appear spacious with individually designed built-in furniture.
